    Procurement and Logistics Officer

    We are currently seeking to recruit a qualified South Sudan National to fill a vacant position of Procurement and Logistics Officer within the Bank.

    We are seeking to recruit a highly competent and result-oriented individual for the position of Procurement and Logistics Officer.
    This requires a professional, trustworthy, self-driven individual with a strong passion for success in the Supplies and Logistics Management Department.
    Reporting to the Head – Property and Supplies Department/Operations, the role holder will be responsible for implementation of ongoing and new initiatives, inventory management, contracts, Facility management, maintenance of bank motor vehicles, and management of leased transport and movement of staff within the Bank network.
    In addition, she/he will be responsible for ensuring that the Bank assets and staff are adequately covered against any insurable risk.
    • The Role

      Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

      ∙ Negotiate and develop contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers.
      ∙ Create and implement procurement strategies and processes that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within industry whilst driving continuous improvement.
      ∙ Prepare and distribute procurement opportunities including invitations to tender, pre-qualification documents and invitation for expressions of interest.
      ∙ Evaluation of tenders, quotations and proposals.
      ∙ Assist with commercial and legal negotiations with support from the Bank’s legal team.
      ∙ Achieving competitive premiums for Bank policies / covers through tendering / negotiation. ∙ Conduct review meetings with vendors to improve service delivery.
      ∙ Carry out preventive maintenance in respect to Bank motor vehicles to ensure no frequent breakdowns. ∙ The management of both outsourced and in-house transport plus, monitoring of actual taxi usage. ∙ Monitoring of the Bank leased motor vehicles on usage and fuel consumption.
      ∙ Make budgetary recommendations for construction, refurbishment or leasing of premises. ∙ Identify and acquire space for new bank outlets as per internal approval procedure.
      ∙ Ensure that all stock records are at all-time balancing and adequate stock level is maintained.

    • Skills, Competencies and Experience

      The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:

      ∙ A Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing and Supplies or Business-related field from a reputable university ∙ A Minimum of at least two years’ experience in a similar role.
      ∙ Certificate of Proficiency qualification is an added advantage.
      ∙ Knowledge of procurement standards, polices and tendering procedures.
      ∙ Good understanding of fleet management while dealing with motor vehicle and transport issues. ∙ Good knowledge of logistics & transport management.
      ∙ Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
